St. Patrick’s Day is one of the most festive times of the year in Birmingham. And while the normal parade festivities are preempted by the pandemic, there are many fantastic ways to celebrate this beer-soaked holiday. Everyone has their go-to watering hole, and supporting any local business is a great decision. Here are a few events that captured our attention.

Ghost Train Day Party

Ghost Trains beers and Porky’s Pride will make for a delightful Wednesday celebration!

The Birmingham brewery scene is an ever-growing blessing for the city’s beer lovers, but throughout all the growth the fine folks at Ghost Train Brewing Company have remained a Magic City favorite. Serving a wide selection of beers, ciders, and even liquor options in a very unique setting that includes a shipping container bar has made this brewery a guaranteed good night - and their planned St. Patrick’s Day festivities are only going to make the day even more enjoyable. This free event, which begins at 3pm, will feature many themed beverages and a delicious menu from local food truck favorite Porky’s Pride.

Ferus Artisan Ales

Ferus Artisan Ales continue to provide a top-notch experience for the people of Trussville.

Not far from the beloved Birmingham downtown is the bustling Trussville Entertainment District, which is quickly becoming a food and beverage hub. Ferus Artisan Ales has established itself as the premiere fixture of this exciting development, with a delicious menu and a massive outdoor area complete with an amphitheater making it a setting the whole family can enjoy. The brewery will be hosting quite the St. Patty’s bash on Wednesday. This includes food specials like fish & chips, corned beef hash, and Irish nachos, alongside themed beverages, live music, and a medley of fun pop-up booths to keep the entertainment going.

St. Patrick’s Day Crawfish Boil

Caption: There will be no shortage of fun options to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Leeds this Wednesday.

Another rapidly growing town right outside of Birmingham is Leeds, and The Outlet Shops of Grand River - complete with a large selection of local food options and a drive-in movie theatre - are a major catalyst for this exciting expansion. Wednesday’s festivities feature giveaways, $2 beers, a free movie, and music by Tommy Trumpet & Moral Support. All of these highlights are only lifted higher by a crawfish boil hosted by the dedicated team at Red Mountain Crawfish Co. It’s hard to say no to so many great things all in one location!

A Birmingham Blast

Wherever you end, or if you decide to make your own drinks in the comfort of your home, one thing is for certain - our city loves celebrating this fun holiday! Have a happy and safe day full of laughter, delicious food, and maybe a drink or two. Stay hoppy, Birmingham!
