About Town Magazine is looking for Event Photographers in the Birmingham market. We seek energetic, self-motivated, and reliable individuals to join our team. Pay is per event (which usually lasts 1-1.5 hours), and you will need your own camera.

Digital Media / Photography / Videography Intern
About Town seeks an intern to assist with a wide range of digital photography and videography applications to support our print and digital communications. We seek a self-motivated student with a wide range of skills to join our team for an experience that could follow a credit-based internship program.
Responsibilities include taking high-quality photos and videos for advertiser, event-based and feature content, editing images, organizing and backing up images, uploading images to website and preparing them for print and digital publishing. Training is provided, but a baseline of skills is expected, including strong writing and research, comfort working with images and using a range of computer applications.
Hours are flexible and some work can be done remotely. Intern will ideally to report to physical building in downtown Birmingham at least one day per week with health and safety precautions in place. The number of hours to be completed weekly, the duration of the internship and specific completion of assignments can be adapted to meet college requirements.

Writing / Journalism / Content Creation Intern
About Town seeks an intern to assist with preparing engaging feature content for our print and digital communications. We seek a self-motivated student with a wide range of skills to join our team for an experience that could follow a credit-based internship program.
Responsibilities include curating information and images, writing text, adding links, and creating features to be included on About Town’s website, email and social media communications, and print magazine. The intern will monitor local events for inclusion in the online social calendar and to inspire content creation. Training is provided, but a baseline of skills is expected, including strong writing and research, comfort working with images and using a range of computer applications.

The intern will monitor local events for inclusion on social media and in the online social calendar.
