Tessa Commercial Real Estate redeveloped the ground floor of the Burger Phillips Building, transforming a once-vacant, blighted property in the heart of Birmingham’s Central Business District into office space. Opportunity Alabama’s The OPAL Fund served as the lead equity investor in this project, and OPAL joined Tessa as a tenant of the space. Tessa and OPAL were drawn to this project as a way to invest in Birmingham’s Central Business District while creating new space for these two innovative, impact-oriented companies to grow and collaborate.
