Woodlawn Sunday Dinner 2021

Woodlawn Foundation

There are few things in life sweeter than Sunday dinner in the South. It is a time when families put differences and cares and worries aside and participate in the ritual of breaking bread together in gratitude. They find joy in the savoring. In the spirit of togetherness, Woodlawn Sunday Dinner was born out of a desire to celebrate Woodlawn and create a way for residents and donors to break bread together - an encounter that might not happen otherwise.

Woodlawn Sunday Dinner is an annual Woodlawn Foundation fundraiser benefitting the Homeowner Rehabilitation Program, Woodlawn WORx, and general operating expenses that keep our team in Woodlawn moving our mission forward to end the cycle of intergenerational poverty. The event is held on the street across from the Foundation’s office. Think street art, shade trees, sidewalks, and cocktails sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, delicious food, and jovial music. Each year, guests enjoy tastings prepared by area chefs with ties to Woodlawn and the surrounding community.

This year, guests enjoyed live music with performances by American Idol finalist Dominique Posey and headliner Eric Essix and the Eric Essix Band. We also offered limited capacity trolley tours every 30 minutes for guests interested in seeing the progress being made in the Woodlawn community.
