THROW-BACK Event: Rotaract's Dress Up, Get Down Gala 2006

THROW-BACK EVENT!

What were you doing in 2006?

We were at WorkPlay partying with our friends from the Rotaract Club of Birmingham. WorkPlay was an appropriate venue for the Rotaract Club of Birmingham’s first ever Dress Up, Get Down gala on Friday, March 3, 2006—where 450 young professionals who like to Work hard and Play hard turned up in cocktail attire to dance to the sounds of Meteorite. Ticket sales and sponsorships for the event brought in roughly $20,000 for Rotaract’s Ready 2 Read initiative, placing libraries into local second grade classrooms. After such a great start to the club’s fundraising campaign for this signature service project, Rotaract members will continue to secure the donations necessary to reach an estimated total of $150,000 for project completion.
