Where were you early 2008?
We were celebrating the Alabama Ballet’s Pointe Ball & After Hours at The Pointe Ball in 2008!
Ballerinas in elegant costumes welcomed guests to Saks Fifth Avenue for the 2008 Pointe Ball benefiting the Alabama Ballet and its education and outreach programs. Also welcoming guests were the ball chairman, Artistic Director Tracey Alvey and Alabama Ballet board president Kacy Mitchell.
Upon arrival, guests were offered the evening’s signature cocktail of champagne and lemon sorbet. Before the seated dinner, guests were treated to a vignette performance by Alabama Ballet dancers. After this, guests returned downstairs for dancing to The Pat Patrick Band. Young Ballet Patrons joined in the festivities with After Hours at The Pointe Ball, enjoying drinks, desserts, and dancing. Alabama Ballet is thankful to the many corporate sponsors of the event, including presenting sponsor Regions Morgan Keegan Trust.
The theme was Winter Wonderland with Black-Tie attire. Saks Fifth Avenue became a Winter Wonderland as white birch trees, fresh from Wisconsin, joined white hydrangeas, orchids, quince, and blush roses in snow-filled vases to create the elegant setting for the Pointe Ball. Dorothy McDaniel created spectacular floral designs using unusual and striking containers and complimented the ball’s color theme of winter white, silver and ice-blue. Alabama Ballet tutus added to the elegant décor.
