The Off-Shoots Garden Club was able to remain active during this crazy year utilizing outdoor and distanced meetings. Despite canceled events for over a year, OSGC was able to safely raise money for the Brookwood Forest community this year and keep moving forward helping their community. President Kibbe Jones and the executive board felt like it was the right time to finally come together during its annual Spring Party, 80’s prom style. Former president, Katie Parnell Robinson and her husband, Donald Robinson, hosted the annual spring party at their farm, Southland Sportshorses.
VP of Events, Britney Beirnstein worked closely with Morgan Kelly, to design the perfect, delightfully tacky, bright colored 80s Prom Party. With the help of their spring party committee (Kibbe Jones, Rachel Holt, Katie Parnell Robinson, Whitney Weaver, Krisalyn Crye and Brooke Williams) they executed the perfect event for their membership to end a successful year.
Balloon arches and bright colored tables surrounded the gold carpet which led into the event where food included 80s classics (krystal burgers, boxed chicken nuggets, bagged chips and more). A stage custom built by venue owners for the event featured live music by The Jenna McClelland Band. The Off-Shoots Garden Club’s 80s prom also featured an ice sculpture, nostalgic design elements and candy bar classics (pop rocks, candy necklaces, candy cigarettes and ring pops).
