The American Cancer Society is proud to present the annual Magic City Cocktail Challenge. The night offered individuals an entertaining and engaging experience filled with live music, silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, and of course... samplings of signature cocktails from local establishments. Not to mention a few other activities guests enjoyed throughout the night.
Twelve Birmingham mixologists created specialty cocktails for the event and competed for the title of “Best Cocktail in Birmingham” using base spirits graciously donated by Tito’s Hand-made Vodka, Old Forester Tennessee Bourbon Whisky, and El Jimador Tequila. Guests sampled these drinks throughout the night and casted their votes for the 2023 “Best Cocktail inBirmingham!” In addition, 3 mystery judges tasted and presented one competitor the Taste-maker Award.
This year, the 3 judges were Lee Pantazis, Alex Correra, and Jackson Rhoades.
The competition participants donated their time, talent, and many resources to the event. They are all dedicated to making a difference in our community and helping lead the fight against cancer!
The community also nominated and selected eleven young professionals to serve as the 2023 Shaker Honorees. These individuals come from various industries and have been hard at work advocating and raising funds for American Cancer Society. The “Shakers” are honored at the event and within the community, as they have dedicated the past few months to furthering the impact of Magic City Cocktail Challenge and supporting our city’s American Cancer Society. Thank you to all that supported them.
The Shaker of the year was awarded to Paige Jacoby, who raised over $10,000 for the American Cancer Society!
