The Birmingham Visionaries of the year is a 10-week philanthropic competition where leaders in the community are nominated to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The campaign concluded with the Grand Finale Gala at the Barber Motorsports Museum, where the fundraising winners were announced, along with the overall total raised. Candidates were nominated by the Executive Leadership Team or LLS staff, and underwent months of preparation leading up to the campaign kick off.
Alongside the Adult Visionaries are the Student Visionaries, exemplary high school students who run a similar campaign, although they have a higher focus on learning life skills such as how to make an elevator pitch and time management, and the winner also receives an academic scholarship.
The 2023 Birmingham Adult Visionary of the Year is Amanda Ford with Talent Recruiting Partners, who raised over $57,000. The Birmingham Student Visionary of the Year is Hana Vickery of Briarwood Christian School, who raised over $26,000.
