Condé Nast Traveler has figured out what we’ve known forever – Birmingham is a great place to be.
The iconic magazine named Birmingham one of “The Best 22 Places to Go in 2022” – a year that will see the Magic City host the World Games and a pantheon of global attendees along with it next July. (We’re the first American city to ever host this 11-day, 34-sport event, by the way. No big deal.)
Not surprisingly, food topped the magazine’s list as to why Birmingham is worthy of a visit, with specific mentions like Helen and The Essential making the cut (deservedly so, of course). Condé Nast Traveler points to two of our favorite staycation spots, Elyton Hotel downtown and Valley Hotel in Homewood, as places for visitors to stay. It also highlights the new Urban Supply mixed-use development, which will illuminate Parkside with restaurants, bars, shopping, and fitness studio next year, and City Walk BHAM, which will add green spaces and food trucks to an already vibrant downtown.
We’re always proud of Birmingham, but today, especially so. Click here to read more.
