Watkin’s Branch Bourbon & Braserie is a cozy bar and restaurant in Mountain Brook Village inspired by the traditional French brasserie: upscale French restaurants serving small plates with a variety of spirits. As a nod to French tradition, dishes include robust small plates of timeless, reimagined favorites. The chef-inspired menu is paired with a variety of common and rare bourbons from around the world, as well as craft beer and wine.

What’s the first impression you want guests to have when they walk into your place?
Watkins Branch features unique décor, a cozy atmosphere and an unbeatable , bourbon selection.
What’s something people don’t know about running a bar?
Mostly what goes on behind the scenes. We produce our own curated cocktail lists and we make all of syrups in-house for the best quality and flavor possible.
What’s the greatest compliment a customer can give you?
They’ll be coming back with friends!
What’s the most important thing you have to do to ensure a happy customer?
Great customer service is definitely most important. Everyone is going to mess up from time to time & it won’t always be perfect, but I believe great customer service can cover a multitude of sins.
What’s your favorite drink?
Old-Fashioned
What have you done differently to respond to the pandemic?
We’ve removed tables to create the proper amount of separation and we sanitize everything between each use. We’ve removed a lot of our table decorations due to risk of cross-contamination and we always wear our masks.
