Even if you can’t make Mardi Gras down in New Orleans or Mobile, Birmingham has its own “let the good times roll” celebration scheduled for Saturday, February 19.
Mardi Gras on the Mountain is Easterseals of Birmingham’s annual fundraising event, to be held from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at The Club. Each guest at the black tie optional event will receive a Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktail upon arrival, and the event will feature masks, beads, a nine-piece live band, a caricature artist, and New Orleans-inspired food, beer, and wine, along with access to a silent auction presented by Diamonds Direct.
“You will feel like you have stepped into Mardi Gras right here in Birmingham,” said Katelyn Bruhn, director of corporate development for Easterseals.
In addition to all of the events amenities, it’ll give attendees a chance to support children and adults with disabilities in the Birmingham community. Mardi Gras on the Mountain benefits Easterseals of Birmingham, which exists to create solutions that change the lives of children and adults with disabilities or other special needs – as well as supporting their families.
“Easterseals supports children, teens, and adults with disabilities,” Bruhn said. “We have a Pediatric Therapy Clinic where we never turn a child away who cannot afford services. We act as advocates for our teens and adults to place them in jobs within our community. We strive to create solutions that change the lives of the individuals we work with.”
Mardi Gras on the Mountain fully supports Easterseals’ mission, while also allowing attendees to have a great time and feel like they’re in The Big Easy for the night.
“This truly is the event of the year,” Bruhn said. “Don’t miss out on a fun night with your friends and the chance to go home with incredible items from our silent auction.”
