The Birmingham Stallions are in a familiar place - the USFL playoffs. The Magic City football team took home the league’s championship trophy at the end of the inaugural 2022 season, and are an early favorite to win it all this year.  The North and South Division Championship games take place this weekend, with the 2023 USFL Championship game taking place on Saturday, July 1st in Ohio.

The Stallions have a tough first round game against the New Orleans Breakers, who finished with a 7-3 record. The Stallions and Breakers have the two best records amongst playoff teams, but have to play each other in the South Division Championship. The game takes place in Birmingham this Sunday, June 25th at 6pm. The Stallions have great ticket prices for the Protective Stadium showdown, with hopes of further highlighting the great Magic City audience that has come out in support for the team and league over the last two years.

Birmingham is looking good going into the playoffs. The team is considered top in the league by many experts, and finished the regular season with an impressive 8-2 record after beating league rival the Memphis Showboats last weekend. The game had huge implications for the red-hot Showboats, who were playing for a final playoff spot but were shut down by a tough Stallions crew.

This will be the first USFL playoff game hosted in the Magic City since the league was re-established in 2022. Birmingham played host city for every game in the first season back, and split regular season hosting duties with Ohio this year. The hometown team has captured the city’s hearts with head coach Skip Holtz and a roster of charismatic talented players like Alex McGough, CJ Marable, Jace Sternberger, and many more leading the way. The players have embraced the city as well, and can be often be found at Magic City favorites like Yo Mama’s in between games.

It’s looking like this team and the city are ready for one more ride. Giddy up, Stallions!
