Ikko is a standout favorite on Birmingham's Southside. We have been regulars here for years. The retro ambiance, as well as the incredible diversity of the menu keep us coming back. We love the Shrimp Tempura, Poke’ Bowls & Ramen, and their vast array of Boba Tea.
Bamboo on 2nd

Bamboo on 2nd is located in the Downtown Loft District on 2nd Avenue N. Their wide-ranging menu offers sushi rolls, noodle bowls, and many more Asian-inspired foods. It’s the perfect spot to soak in all of Downtown Birmingham while enjoying a delicious sushi roll. One of Bamboo's most popular rolls is the Godzilla Roll. Once it starts warming up, make sure to make a reservation to sit out on the patio!

Abhi has two locations in Mountain Brook Village and at The Summit. Nepalese Chef Abhi Sainju is a master of presentation. Both restaurants feature a casual, sophisticated vibe perfect for your next date night. Menu highlights include a signature sushi roll: Abhi’s Beer Battered Roll, as well as an array of other sushi rolls, appetizers, and bowls. Abhi specializes in presentation, and it's quite apparent the chef puts significant time and effort into making the sushi not only tasty, but beautiful, too! Abhi is perfect for large groups, and you can even watch the chefs prepare your meal right from your seat.
Shiki

Shiki Thai & Sushi is another go-to for delicious sushi. Located in Downtown Homewood, Shiki is the place to satisfy all of your sushi cravings. Not to mention their stellar happy hour, with $5 margaritas and half-price kitchen appetizers. Shiki serves lunch and dinner and always offers a fun fusion atmosphere with great outdoor seating. The fish is flown in fresh each week. Try the Red Dragon Roll - the green onion is the perfect touch!
Jinsei

Our final favorite Birmingham sushi joint is Jinsei Sushi, located in Homewood. Jinsei has an expansive menu that includes Kodoma Tuna, their most popular dish. Jinsei is perfect for a bite after a long work day - we especially recommend unwinding under the covered patio. The Tataki Bites are an easy sharable appetizer to enjoy with a group.
