This event highlights Birmingham’s diverse and vibrant food and beverage scene while enjoying the musical talents of The Birmingham Boys Choir. More than 20 restaurants offered samples of a signature dish and competed for the coveted Iron Skillet Award. Guests enjoyed an ice carving demonstration from American Culinary Federation. The Alabama Chapter and the Concert Choristers of the BBC serenaded the crowd with songs celebrating love.
BBC Taste is the choir's largest fundraiser. It enables the BBC to provide a musical experience that goes above and beyond performance. Not only do Birmingham’s young men learn music theory, technique, and ensemble skills but also learn discipline through rehearsal, practice, and performance. This benefits every aspect of their lives, making them more successful in other achievements and preparing them as future leaders in our community.
The choir, founded in 1973, is made up of 150 members from 3rd-12th grade, representing over 40 schools across Birmingham. It is a great event for food enthusiasts and a wonderful way to experience Birmingham's culinary culture while supporting the Birmingham Boys Choir and its invaluable impact on individuals, families, the Birmingham community, and beyond.
