Teal Wings of Hope (TWOH) is a Birmingham-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing the fight against ovarian and gynecologic cancers through four pillars: Awareness, Early Detection Research, Treatment Innovation, and Patient Care. Founded in 2024, TWOH is proudly volunteer-driven, operating with an intentionally lean structure so that the vast majority of funds raised can directly support UAB Medicine’s Division of Gynecologic Oncology.
The organization’s partnership with UAB Medicine is at the heart of its mission, helping advance the work of Birmingham’s physicians and researchers while supporting patients and families affected by ovarian and gynecologic cancers. In 2025, the Birmingham community showed up in an extraordinary way, with Teal Wings of Hope raising $1.2 million for UAB Medicine’s Gynecologic Oncology Department.
The 2026 “A Night of a Thousand Wings” Benefit Dinner is part of a full weekend of events surrounding the UAB Medicine GT World Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park. Teal Wings of Hope is proud to partner with the race weekend to bring together the Birmingham community, motorsports fans, philanthropists, physicians, business leaders, and supporters around a shared mission.
TWOH also hosts its annual Tee Up for Teal Golf Tournament, a unique day-and-night golf experience benefiting UAB Medicine’s Gynecologic Oncology Department. The tournament is held each year on the second Tuesday of October, with the 2026 tournament taking place October 13 at Highland Park Golf Course. The event features nine holes during the day followed by nine holes played at night with glow-in-the-dark golf balls.
