Guests stepped back in time for Groove with the Gaieties!, a lively Motown Dance Party inspired by the unforgettable style and music of the 1960s and 1970s. Attendees arrived dressed in their best retro looks, embracing bold prints, classic silhouettes, and vintage flair. The Best Dressed prize was a gift certificate to The Market in Mountain Brook Village.
The evening featured a delicious Southern-inspired menu including Honey Pecan Fried Chicken, Shrimp and Grits, turnip greens, and squash casserole, giving guests the perfect meal before hitting the dance floor. Décor set the tone with a striking black-and-white theme, accented by vibrant multi-colored gerbera daisies and nostalgic touches such as classic 45 RPM records, creating a festive and authentic Motown vibe.
The highlight of the night was dancing to the sounds of Motown favorites, performed by the Rob Harris Band, keeping the crowd on their feet. It was a fun evening, and everyone had a great time!
The Co-Chairs for the Motown Dance Party were Kitty White and Kathy Whatley. The prize for best theme-inspired outfit went to Pete McCarn.
