March events in Birmingham have been a blast so far and there is still so much more in store! It’s become clear that the Magic City is becoming a music lover’s paradise in addition to a top foodie city. Of all the amazing weeks for concerts we’ve already witnessed in 2023, this second week of the third month of the year might be the most revealing. Local musical greats and some national legends are all in the city this week. Here are a few of the shows we are most looking forward to.
Davis Little and Hailey Black at The Marble Ring (Wednesday)
Hailey Black and Davis Little create a musical experience that can’t be matched anywhere else in the nation. The two Birmingham residents bring a guitar and violin together to create some truly beautiful tunes, which you can hear firsthand at The Marble Ring on Wednesday night.
John Christ of Danzig @ True Story Brewing Company (Wednesday)
A guitar legend will be in the Magic City this Wednesday evening! John Christ, famously known as the original lead guitar player of Danzig, will be making a very special appearance at True Story Brewing thanks to Brian Burks, Hannah Ali Burks, and the Birmingham punk rock collective. This is going to be one special moment.
The Drag: Anime - Vendors - Live Music at Monday Night Brewing (Thursday)
The Drag series at Monday Night Brewing has been bringing together some of the city’s finest musicians, artists, and vendors alongside anime and video games on a monthly basis. This month’s edition features an incredible lineup that includes Tia Raye, The Lie Within Callie, Asholie, Andrea Really, and McKenna Gray.
The Williamson Brothers, Cathedral Ceilings, Made Aware, Dead Billionaires, 12Eleven at The Nick (Friday)
The Williamson Brothers have long been leading forces in Southern rock, both through their own adventures and with Birmingham favorites like Lee Baines and The Glory Fires. The two Williamsons recently released a stellar album and will be playing a can’t-miss show at The Nick this Friday night along with Cathedral Ceilings, Made Aware, Dead Billionaires, and 12Eleven.
New Edition, Keith Sweat, and Guy at The BJCC (Saturday)
Three of R&B’s most consistent hitmakers will be at The BJCC this Saturday. New Edition, Keith Sweat, and Guy are all coming together to rock the collective minds of Magic City residents. There’s a reason this is one of our top March shows and we’d recommend being a part.
