Theatre songs, documentaries, and concerts light up the calendar like Christmas trees light homes across the Magic City here are a few of our favorite events to check out this week.
Gin and Talent (Thursday)
The Marble Ring is hosting an event uplifting Birmingham’s talented theatre community this Thursday beginning at 7pm. There will be a program at 7pm and a BYOSM (Bring Your Own Sheet Music) after. This is a very fun way to support the local arts.
SHUTTLESWORTH - Documentary Film Premiere (Thursday)
The Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth was a nation-changer who stood in the face of evil and persevered. He will now have his story told on Alabama Public Television with the premiere showing at the recently renovated Carver Theatre this Thursday.
Skeptic?, Nowhere Squares & Genki Genki Panic (Saturday)
It’s going to be a night of great music at The Nick on Saturday night as Birmingham favorites Skeptic?, Nowhere Squares, and Genki Genki Panic from Atlanta all take the stage. The show starts at 8pm and tickets are only $7.
The Talismen with The Orange Constant (Saturday)
The Talismen have wowing audiences with their blend of jazz, funk, Southern rock, and all the feel-good sounds. The band is originally from Montgomery and calls Birmingham home but has found fans all over. They will be taking the stage at Saturn this Saturday night with The Orange Constant for what is sure to be a fun show.
Zenosyne Album Release Party :: B. Sonnier / Mood Room / Mind Mirage (Sunday)
Ana Cuevas of Mind Mirage fame is returning to Birmingham to celebrate the Zenosyne album release party on Sunday at Saturn with some of Alabama’s most exciting acts. B.SONNIER and mood room will also be playing at this show you don’t want to miss.
